Balteschwiler AG, Laufenburg/Switzerland, was founded in 1791 as a saw mill and bridge building company, and celebrated their 200 years’ anniversary in 1991 (even today some of the bridges built by Balteschwiler at that time are still in use*). Today Balteschwiler - together with a branch at Dietikon/Zürich - is one of the leading manufacturers of unfinished and pre-finished planed wood and wood products in Switzerland. With great success, and in close co-operation with SAICOS, Balteschwiler developed - besides marketing SAICOS wood stains in Switzerland - industrial coating systems for wood, interior and exterior in keeping with the exceptionally high Swiss quality standards. The long experience and the thorough and extensive knowledge about wood by Balteschwiler in all fields are at full disposal of SAICOS, and are the base of the success and competence of SAICOS in all questions and problems regarding application and treatment of wood.
* f. i. the wooden bridge over the Rhine river between Stein and Bad Sackingen, the longest roofed wooden bridge of its kind in Europe, length 204 m.
